Copywriting is a field that promises big rewards for those who are successful.
The idea of being able to make more money than a doctor is a common trope in the industry, and it's one that attracts many people who are looking for a way to make a living doing something they love.
However, the reality of copywriting is often far different from the promises that are made. The truth is that while a select few copywriters make hundreds of thousands of dollars, the vast majority don't make nearly as much.
The reasons for this are many. Some people simply can't write well enough to be effective copywriters. Others lack the sales skills
necessary to convert their writing into actual sales.
And still, others think that just because they can write a poem or a story, they can make it as a copywriter.
I've seen this happen many times in my own career. I've seen people come into the field with big dreams, only to find out that it's not as easy as they thought it would be. They're
disappointed, and they give up. And that's sad.
I was fortunate enough to make it as a copywriter because I had the perfect background. I was voted "most talkative" in high school and had a degree in speech communication.
I also had a general love for people and an understanding of what makes them tick. Plus, I had great coaching and worked for
great people who recognized my talent.
If you're thinking about becoming a copywriter, it's important to understand that it's not a field for everyone.
It's a field that requires a specific set of skills and talents, as well as the right background and mindset.
If you have those things and are
willing to put in the hard work, you can make it as a copywriter.
But it's not going to be easy. It will require dedication, patience, and hard work.
