Make no mistake—there are hundreds of books and seminars on copywriting.
They cover how to write headlines, body copy, calls to action, and the best persuasion techniques.
While these resources can be valuable, they often miss the most critical aspect: how you learn.
If the materials you buy aren't structured to suit your learning style, you
will struggle. It will be like a dyslexic child trying to figure out the correct order of the words.
So, how do you learn?
- Are you a visual learner or an auditory learner?
- Do you learn best through repetition?
Identifying your learning style is crucial because it affects how well you
absorb and apply new information.
I realized long ago that I am a repetition learner. I need to do things over and over again until I get it.
This is how
I earned black belts in Judo and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Practicing the same moves over and over and over.
This is how I learned to speak Spanish, too, by running in the morning with a listen-and-repeat CD—for two years!
It's also how I learned to write copy, by studying top copywriters and emulating their styles.
Here's how I learned.
I would analyze their work, even going
as far as counting paragraphs between arguments and identifying transitions, searching for ways to connect the dots from the headline to the call to action smoothly and effortlessly, like pouring water from a bottle into a glass.
So, how do YOU
learn?
You need to answer this question for yourself before any material can truly help you.
I teach copywriting starting from this point.
I teach the way I learned, through repetition, showing you the secrets in the first session and then reinforcing them over and over again using my most successful samples.
This way, you not only understand the approach but also see its execution.
This is why I never created a coaching program that scales.
How could I?
Everyone learns differently. It is with this idea in mind
that I work with people to identify their learning styles—visual, auditory, or practice.
My ultimate goal is to help you connect the dots in your own mind, so you can see the available means of persuasion and effectively win the mind through argument.
This is why I work to touch on all three—in a personal way that will help you learn to write more persuasively and faster too.
The truth is, if the materials, coaching, and courses you buy do not align with your learning style, you may never internalize the principles of copywriting.
Nor will you be able to seamlessly apply persuasive techniques in your writing.
