Make no mistake about it:
Gone are the days of generic promotions that fail to connect with audiences.
If you want to make millions through your advertising efforts, it's time to unlock the true potential of value-driven advertising.
This was one of the secrets to my copywriting success. I wasn't just selling
financial newsletters. I was writing value-driven content that showed readers the pathway to wealth.
In other words, I was getting them started down the yellow brick road by placing golden nuggets of information that kept them reading down
the page all the way to the order form.
I don't mention this to brag, but I got really good at it.
The master key was finding the balance between "teach and tease."
With every line of copy, I would both educate them while teasing them
for even more great wealth-building information readers would simply find one paragraph further down the page.
I was leading them, "like a pied piper," right to the order form.
I used what I would call "The MacGyver approach." If you are not familiar with the television series MacGyver, he could create a bomb out of nothing and a piece of string.
But the producers were very careful not to show people everything. They did not want to create a bunch of bomb builders.
I did
something similar in my copy.
I gave them ALMOST everything they needed to get rich—except for the one component that drove the wealth—the name of the stock.
And I mean everything... from the financial data to market share to big-name investors who were buying the stock.
Just not the name.
All by using a carefully orchestrated balance of tease and teach.
By incorporating the "teach and tease" approach into your advertising strategy, you too can elevate the value of your content and transform it into a powerful sales promotion.
Here's how you can effectively implement this technique:
Provide Valuable Information:
Start by delivering high-quality content that educates and informs your audience. Share valuable insights, tips, or industry knowledge that genuinely help them solve a problem or improve their lives. By offering valuable information upfront, you establish credibility and build trust with your audience.
Create a Puzzle:
Rather than providing all the answers, create a sense of curiosity and intrigue by presenting your content as a puzzle. Give your audience most of
the pieces they need to complete the picture but withhold a crucial element—the missing piece that holds the key to unlocking the desired outcome or solution. This leaves them intrigued and hungry for more.
Engage and
Captivate:
As your audience engages with your content and discovers the missing piece of the puzzle, they experience a sense of fulfillment and satisfaction. This engagement keeps them hooked, eager to learn more and find the complete solution. By keeping them captivated throughout the journey, you establish a deeper connection
and increase their receptiveness to your marketing message.
Call to Action:
Once your audience is fully engaged, it's time to present your call to action. Clearly communicate how your product or service provides the missing piece they need to achieve their desired outcome. Show them how your solution completes the picture and propels them towards their goals. Highlight the unique value and benefits they will gain by taking action.
Nurture the Relationship:
After your audience responds to your call to action, continue nurturing the relationship. Provide ongoing value and support through
follow-up content, personalized communications, or exclusive offers.
This helps you build long-term customer loyalty and positions you as a trusted partner throughout their journey.
Remember, the "teach and tease" approach should strike a balance between providing valuable information and creating a sense of anticipation.
It's about guiding your audience towards a solution while keeping them engaged and eager
for more.
