My Special Motivational Message for Freelance Copywriters
Published: Thu, 02/16/23
If you seriously desire to make it as a six-figure copywriter in 2023...
…then my special motivational message was written for you
Dear Future Superstar,
It’s no fluke that you're reading this thread.
You've seen the big money freelancers are making and you want into the game.
But the going has been tough.
I want you to know that I can relate to your struggle to make it as a copywriter.
At one time I was sitting where you are right now. You really want to make it as a copywriter. All you need is someone to just give you a chance.
On that note, I would like to see you make it too. I hope my special message today will help you rise to the next level.
So let me see if I’ve caught you where you’re at…
The people whom you’ve been pitching have been telling you that your copy is great.
Tragically, the jobs aren’t coming as fast as you would like them to come.
And you’ve been doing everything that you’ve been taught to do.
After all…
• You’ve bought all the books and taken all the courses
• You’ve sent your perfectly worded direct mail and email pitch
• You’ve
called the marketing directors, the publishers, and other copywriters
All with no luck.
So why is it that you can do everything right, and it’s still so hard to find work?
The reasons are so simple:
• You are not selling yourself the right way
• Your sales pitch SHOUTS that you’re a newbie
• You haven’t properly identified what marketing directors, publishers and other copywriters really want I know.
I must receive dozen of emails and DMs a week from new copywriters looking for work.
All the writers who contact me are making the very same mistakes.
Mistakes that are simply sabotaging their chances of success.
What mistakes am I speaking of?
1. Assuming that top copywriters would seriously consider sending their overflow work to a stranger.
2. Sending pitch letters that say how good you are. Or worse, that talk about the benefits of copywriting. The people you are pitching already know the benefits. They just need a good copywriter.
And you can’t tell them how good you are, you must show them. They are not sold by you telling them about your “killer sales letters,” “cash-sucking copy,” or “POWERFUL SALES COPY that
rakes in the dough.”
These people are top-notch professionals. That is not what they want to
hear.
3. Thinking that delivering on time is a hook.
You may not know this, but the top publishers and direct marketing firms work around the top copywriters’ schedule, not vice versa.
In fact, many of the A-list writers are always tardy. And I mean always. Yet, the publishers wait because the writer’s work sells.
Listen, would you push Picasso to deliver his next masterpiece on time? The same thing applies here.
4. Sounding desperate. I’ve been at this a long time, and I can read between the lines that you want to get something going fast.
Most of the calls and letters I receive are from good-hearted, hardworking folks who simply want a chance to get into the game. Please never offer to work for nothing.
You are undermining the value of your talent.
Why am I sharing this with you?
Two reasons:
(1) I made the same mistakes that you’re making now, and
(2) I really want to see you succeed.
And I’ve come up
with a way that could not not only help you finally get the big break you’ve been looking for but get 3 great paying clients in the next 90 days.
As you’ll discover, it’s a simple, sensible, and professional way that anyone can use to create the copywriting career that they have been dreaming about.
Not overnight, mind you, but step-by-step. That’s why I created it. To help you build your career the right way. The slow way.
And not by using a “what-should-I-do-now” approach, but a time-proven systematic approach that works. How can I be so sure?
Because it’s the same framework I created that has taken me from $0 in 1989 to averaging over $400,000 a year for more than two decades--with my best year coming in at $700K.
So if you’re tired of the “oh-so-easy” courses that cost you an arm and a leg and don’t work…and you are willing to do EXACTLY what I tell you to do, you will not only get
work, but you could one day even turn away jobs the way I do.
